It is an exciting day for Hannah today. She got her long line taken out this morning because she isn’t needing any supplementary feeds, just milk (and a lot of it). That means Hannah has no lines in at all! She is also doing well on her high flow. Yay Hannah.
Ellie is still struggling with her breathing and making sure her nurses don’t forget about her. Originally they were planning on letting her concentrate on starting back on milk feeds over the weekend and were going to start her on some steroids on Monday. However they have moved up their schedule for Ellie. She is fighting the ventilator which is normally a great sign that a baby is ready to be extubated however in Ellie’s case her lungs just aren’t ready to work that hard on their own yet, so the steroids will help her along. She is doing well on her limited milk feeds at this stage.
The only other news is that it is the first day Matt or I aren’t able to be with the girls (Nate is sick, we have to wait and see if it is contagious). I will be sure to take lots and lots of photos tomorrow.
